Frequently when people think of Rio de Janeiro, they think of Ipanema, Copacabana, Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf. Barra da Tijuca of course isn’t an obscure place, it’s just not as well-known. Though it is quite possible that this assumption is changing. To the intelligent person, this would be a place to be looking for apartments. In the wake of the world’s financial instability, Barra da Tijuca has recently been showing that it is an exception to this. While small businesses are struggling to survive in the United States and many are closing up shop, the reverse of this is taking place in Rio de Janeiro.
