When talking about Rio de Janeiro, people commonly think about it as a place to travel. Going on that exotic vacation, perhaps hoping to never come home again to their drab flats and apartments. But what about that person who actually does decide to never come home? How do the natives get by here? Beach front real estate apartment penthouses in Ipanema and Copacabana aren’t necessarily going to be low-cost for everyone and certainly not hotels. So while we’re on the subject of price, perhaps you should think of accommodations for sale in a place like Niteroi.

Niteroi is a city just outside of Rio, but essentially is quite attainable. While still being a nice place, with some beaches of its own, the big benefit to living in Niteroi is the fact that the cost of living is much lower than equivalent places in Rio de Janeiro. So it is definitely an alternative worth considering if you are intending a long term move to Brazil. Though, while it isn’t a tourist location that is sprawling with hotels fit for people who want to take a holiday, it does offer a broad selection of cheap apartments, flats and other rentals. Making Niteroi a viable option for a long term stay or real estate for sale.
