When the very first bikini was introduced into the United States as a style item, a lot of clothing designers refused to believe that it would ever turn out to be a trend, or for that matter, be in demand. US designers, for a decade, continued to ignore bikini using the belief that American girls wouldn’t favor bikini simply because of decency factors. Nevertheless, by 1957, thanks mainly to European influences and Hollywood films, the bikini was accepted into our mainstream way of pondering about fashions and clothes trends.

As trends possess a tendency to do, the bikini trend escalated in 1960 when a songwriter named Brian Hyland crafted his Yellow Polka Dot Bikini song, which soon became a hit. Since that time, the bikini has become commonplace among swimwear designers and people who nevertheless get the bikinis.

Not long ago, even so, a new style of bikini has emerged that has gained worldwide attention-the Brazilian micro bikini.
