Recognized for its world-famous beach, Copacabana is a area which is barely unheard of. The four kilometer beachfront has popular bars, eating places, high rise apartments, hotels and tourist attractions you wouldn’t want to miss. This prospering area of Rio de Janeiro was originally named Sacopenap. The region altered its name when a chapel holding the look-alike of Virgen de Copacabana was built in 1892.

New Year’s season is the most hectic period of the year in Copacabana with their widely known New Year’s special event which hosts numerous locals and tourists from all around the globe.
